About ICE certificate:

However, Cambridge also offers an additional certification called Cambridge International Certificate in Education (ICE) when students take up minimum 7 subjects from variety of groups as follows:

When students appear for 7 subjects they are offered with dual certifications that’s Cambridge IGCSE + ICE.
While ICE certification has significant importance in the USA and South America, it’s not a mandatory requirement to progress to Grade 11 here in India. Students are admitted to any boards for Grade 11 simply on the basis of IGCSE.
About examinations:
Cambridge IGCSE examinations are conducted thrice in a calendar year as follows:
- February-March (Only for India started in 2016)
- May-June (International)
- October-November (International)
While most of the schools have opted for the Feb-Mar session to match with the Indian academic calendar, some schools still follow the May-June session following the international academic calendar which is from September to June.
It’s also important to know that some subjects of IGCSE are offered only in May-June and Oct-Nov sessions.
